Hello and welcome to my website! I’m Laura, a recent PhD graduate, professional coach and current trainee psychologist.
I help academics optimise their wellbeing, career clarity, and collaborations with others so that they can achieve their project goals and feel great in the process. I also provide research assistance in the field of social sciences.

Before completing my doctoral degree in psychology in Sweden (Lund University), I trained and worked as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner and Transformational Coach, and held a variety of research assistant posts (see the Research tab for more). During my PhD, I also became highly involved in PhD advocacy, leadership, and the topic of well-being in academic environments. As part of this, I have created a number of resources about wellbeing, careers and collaboration, which can be found on the Resources page. Over the last year, I have had the pleasure of getting to know a variety of other areas and institutions in Sweden through becoming involved in the national doctoral committee (SFS-DK), and leading a project on working more directly with doctoral student organisations around the country.
Since December 2024, I have been working as a Wellbeing and Career Mentor for doctoral students across all faculties at Lund University, based within Lund’s Doctoral Student Union (LDK). As of September 2025, I am now working part-time in the same role, and I have opened up a few hours each week (separate to these working hours and my training) for academics at other universities to access similar support. Please see the Coaching tab for more information if you are interested!
About me as a person: I am from England, but I was born in Hong Kong as my dad worked there for most of my life. I primarily grew up with my mother and three brothers in South-West England (although my dad did make the 12-hour journey to spend as many weekends as he could with us!). We spent most of our summers in East Asia, which formed my love for travelling and taking a global outlook. In 2020, I moved to southern Sweden to undertake my PhD and I’ve lived in Skåne for five years (including Lund, Malmö & Helsingborg) while completing my PhD in Psychology at Lund University. I take a very international and intersectional approach, and I genuinely enjoy getting to understand people’s experiences.
